In the wake of protests in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), Union Minister Kiren Rijiju today said there is no human rights in that region and this had become amply clear on many occasions in the past.
“There are no human rights in PoK. This had been amply exposed many times earlier also,” Rijiju, Minister of State for Home, told reporters on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi. Protesters owing allegiance to Jammu and Kashmir National Students Federation (JKNSF), along with some members of Jammu and Kashmir National Awami Party (JKNAP), carried out a demonstration rally in Muzaffarabad area of PoK, condemning “oppressive rule” by Pakistani authorities and PoK government.
The protesters raised the issue of job vacancies, which are rare in the area, only being given to Pakistani youth, marginalizing Kashmiri youth of the area.
