Nokia 2, 7, 8 and 9 processor details tipped online

NEW DELHI: After launching its Nokia 3, 5 and 6 smartphones, Finnish-based HMD Global is rumoured to be working on more Android powered smartphones. There have been quite a few online leaks regarding Nokia 8 and 9. A new report reveals details about the processors of the yet-to-be launched Nokia smartphones.
According to a report by NokiaPowerUser quoting a Baidu tipster, HMD Global will launch Nokia 2, Nokia 7, Nokia 8 and Nokia 9 smartphones this year.
The Nokia 9 will be the flagship smartphone of the company and both Nokia 8 and 7 will be mid-range devices.
The report also reveals that Nokia 2 will be powered by a MediaTek processor and not a Qualcomm one as the earlier reports suggested. On the other hand, the Nokia 7, 8 and 9 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630, Snapdragon 660 and Snapdragon 835 processors respectively. The report also states that the smartphones are currently in the testing phase.
Recently, HMD Global issued an official statement, suggesting that Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 will be made available in India, starting mid-August this year. Both the smartphones were launched in India last month along with the Nokia 3.

In the statement, HMD Global mentioned, “Currently, we are ramping up our production for Nokia 3 on priority to meet the existing consumer demand. In the coming week, we will start production of Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 to get them ready for sales starting by mid-august.”
