Scores of cadres of National Panthers Party (NPP) along with dozens of family members of Jammu province, whose kith and kin are languishing in Pakistani jails, held demonstration today under the leadership of provincial president of the party Rajesh Padgotra.
Addressing the protesters, Padgotra said that Sohan Lal Chaudhary from RS Pura (Suchetgarh), Tilak Raj from Miran Sahib, Kuldeep Singh from Kathua Billawar, Om Parkash, Harbans Lal and Raj Kumar are among dozens of citizens who crossed International Border due to mentally upset and are languishing in Pakistani jail for years but government of India has not taken any step for their release.
He said in Kot Lakhpat Jail of Lahore, Sarabjit and Kirpal Singh from Punjab and Chamel Singh from Jammu were killed and their bodies were sent back to India after taking out their vital organs, adding that now the family members of these prisoners are fearing that their members might face same fate.
Padgotra said that family member of Kirpal Singh got rupees 25 lakhs as ex gratia relief. Sarabjit Singh got rupees one crore and Rupees 25 lakhs from Punjab government and job to one daughter and gas agency to other and was given martyr status but for Chamel Singh of Jammu no financial aid has been given to his family members which is condemnable.

He said Panthers Party would not tolerate any type of injustice to family member of Chamel Singh and others of Jammu provide and would continue to stage protest.
