NSF activists hold massive protest dharna at Raj Bhawan; seek ouster of JU VC

A large number of activists of National Secular Forum (NSF) today staged Protest dharna at Raj Bhawan here to highlight the prevailing mess in University of Jammu (JU) owing to disabled leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof Ramji Dass Sharma, and sought intervention of Governor to clear the same.
The activists led by district president Rishikesh Rana said that day-to-day working was badly suffering on account of administrative failure and instead of growth & development University was treading the declining path and courses were being closed arbitrarily. He said, “The Human Genetics Research Centre is on the brink of closure just because the Vice Chancellor lacking inertia to take crucial decision which is detrimental to growth of University.” Lamenting the VC for his lack of understanding of the issues, the rana said “Institute of Human Genetics that had emerged after systematic progress and achieved the stature of a research hub has been closed on the plea that the funding Agency is not releasing the required funds. University administration has failed to speak reality about this institution.” He further said “The functioning of the DDE is totally paralyzed owing to unusual interference of the Vice-Chancellor as the senior professors are not made accountable for their responsibilities, due to which students are facing hardships.”
Others who were present during the occasion including Papinder Singh, Amit Sanotra,Pushpinder Singh, Arun Manhas, ,Deva Langeh, Arjun Manhas, Sahil Langeh, Ishu Rajput, Rohit Sharma, Nikhil Sharma, Makhan Bhagat, Prince Sharma and Others.
