National Student’s Union Of India (NSUI) Unit Doda hold Protest against technical board of J&K at Doda. The protest was organised under the chairmanship of NSUI State Secretary Mehran Anjum Mir. While speaking on the occasion, State Secretary said that the Chief Minister and Technical Education Minister stressed for modernization of education scenario of J&K but the technical colleges particularly of Chenab Valley are crying hoarse over lack of basic facilities and infrastructure. “It’s a frequent phenomenon that the students of Polytechnic colleges in Chenab Valley lament before concerned authorities to provide infrastructure but it seems that State Ministry of Technical education has shut down its eyes and pushing the future of the students into dark,” Mir alleged. Mehran said that the technical college of Chenab valley are running without basic infrastructure that triggers distress among students who get admission with the hope to learn and serve the country through technical education. “How a student could utilise his technical education when they learn nothing from such college,” Mehran added. “Students are forced to sit on carpet in open ground as the Polytechnic college of Chenab valley are facing shortage of desks facilities,” Mehran mentioned and also raised various other problems being faced by the students of polytechnic colleges. Asking the State Govt to fulfill their commitment of modernization of education, Mehran Anjum Mir appealed Technical Education Minister Imran Raza Ansari to look in this matter and fulfill the colleges requirements as soon as possible as the demands it directly related to the future of the thousands of students of Chenab Valley. Mehran warned technical board to provide infrastructure and basic facilities within two weeks otherwise NSUI will organize a strong agitation and protest against the Technical board as well as Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
