National Student Union of India under the active leadership of District President Sunny Parihar protested against vice chancellor and Dean Academic Affairs cluster university Jammu for not accepting the demand of excluding all extra charges or service charges as mentioned in fee structure set for both UG and PG students courses as pool Fund, sports development fund , Department development fee and other charges .
While talking to JK Newspoint, Parihar told, ‘the cluster university of Jammu is in jammu and Kashmir, Union Territory. Despite same UT, same course like M.Ed are being offered by university of Jammu as well as Cluster University Jammu but the Fee is highly variable which is prejudiced and discriminatory with student community. The just charged rs. 10,920 for M.Ed where as Cluster University demands near about Rs. 22,940 clearly shows this.
“It is important to put into kind consideration of both the university administration as well as State higher education department that economic crisis due to covid-19 lockdown, hit almost every family whose livelihood mainly depends on daily wage basis, like shopkeepers, labour class workers, private employees, etc have no source to deposit such amount as they have to submit the admission fee of our siblings too,” he added.
He demanded from the competent authorities to extend the admission date for all PG as well as UG courses and admitted students of the intermediate semesters provisionally so that their classes may not suffer.
