NSUI kicks out drug de-addiction awareness programme

The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) today organized a drug de-addiction awareness programme at Sambal Camp here in order to provide Information on the risks of drugs, prevent escalation of use,  advice to build resistance skills, to deal with peer pressure, avoid risky situations; and advice for parents, friends and family who are concerned about someone else’s drug use.

The event was organized by Avijot Singh State General Secretary NSUI and Naib Sarpanch Harvinder Singh Kaku and the event was presided  over by Neeraj Kundan State President  NSUI J&K. Shahnawaz Choudhary General Secretary Pradesh Congress Committee Jammu & Kashmir was Chief guest and Former MLA Gharu Ram Bhagat was guest of honour on the occasion.

While address the gathering Shahnawaz Choudhary said that Drug abuse has become a worldwide problem in modern times. It is obvious that illegal drugs have become a major cause for concern in India.

Drug addiction is a serious problem in the region of Punjab. One of India’s most prosperous states, but unfortunately and rapidly the foe behind spoiling the young generation in Punjab  have spoiled the thousands of youths from Jammu Kashmir  too by capturing them in the toils of drug addiction. Shahnawaz Choudhary also highlighted the drug addiction scenario of Jammu Kashmir, the causes and consequences of addiction.
