Memories are still fresh in many minds when ahead of SAARC Summit; our PM Modi surprised both sides of LOC-Borders; with his unscheduled and quick stopover in Lahore to meet & greet his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif on the occasion of his 66th birthday, while coming back to New Delhi from Kabul.
On the other hand, no news from either side been received over doing this gesture from the unfriendly and hostile Pakistan’s leading lights those were again found busy in preparing uninvited agendas as Sharif leaves for New York with Kashmir core agenda of his speech in forthcoming UN General Assembly. If sources be believed, in his address to the UN on Wednesday, the Pak Prime Minister will emphatically highlight the Kashmir dispute and the recent wave of atrocities unleashed by Indian troops.
However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 66th birthday, well after seeking her mother’s blessings,and after signing the agreement for line of credit of US$ 750 million for post-earthquake reconstruction of Nepal, today unveiled schemes worth Rs. 3,800 crore at Limkheda in Dahod district of Gujarat.
Prime Minister Modi handed over land ownership documents to tribal people and inaugurated various water management schemes.As usual, Prime Minister talked about the rapid development in Gujarat and emphasised that the government is dedicated to the welfare of the poor and marginalized with the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ is resonating all over,” said Prime Minister Modi.
Besides, our workaholic PM Modi, in extensive and productive discussions todaywith Prime Minister Prachanda of Nepal covered the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation. And, conveyed to PM Prachanda that India stands ready and prepared to strengthen its development partnership with all neighbours including Nepal. PM told on his birthday that India’s initiatives for open sky, cross-border power trade, transit routes, cross-border connectivity would directly benefit Nepal and help strengthen our economic partnership as Nepal and India are also closely working on a range of areas of economic engagement including energy and water resources sectors.
Marking the beginning of his 66th birthday today, Prime Minister Narendra Modimet his mother Hiraba in Gandhinagar. He sought her blessings before sitting down and talking to her. He spent the rest of the day in Gujarat where several programmes have been planned. The Prime Minister scheduled his visit the tribal district of Dahod to inaugurate various irrigation projects, where PM was given a grand reception in Ahmedabad as he landed at the airport Friday night, on the eve of his birthday. This is the PM’s third visit in recent times to Gujarat, where Assembly elections are due next year.
On the other hand, besides people from all walks and various leaders and bests, President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday conveyed his greetings and good wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 66th birthday.In his message, the President said: “Let this day be the beginning of a year of greater achievements in your and our nation’s life. May the Almighty bless you with good health, happiness and many more years of dedicated service to the nation.”
Vice-President Hamid Ansari also extended his greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prime Minister Modi thanked the President and the Vice-President for their wishes.”I thank Honourable Rashtrapati ji for his kind birthday greetings,” he tweeted.
Nonetheless, BJP Karyakarni decided to celebrate this day as SEWA DEEVAS.
