Paddar Announces Rs 49 lakh for various dev works, 18 IAY units




Minister of State for PHE, Forests, Animal Husbandry and Irrigation & Flood Control, Mr. Abdul Majeed Padder Thursday called upon officers for efficient public delivery system especially in remote and far flung areas of the State to ensure that people do not face any difficulty for want of basic amenities.


The Minister said this during his extensive tour of Watto, Aharbal, Tangmarg, Manzgam, Brain lamer, Koolinar and other remote areas of Noorabad Constituency in Kulgam district.


The Minister was accompanied by the officers of district administration, Kulgam, PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Forest, R&B and other departments.


During his tour, the Minister announced Rs 10 lakh from his CDF for various developmental works in Watto village.


At Tangmarg, the Minister announced providing of small houses under IAY scheme to 12 beneficiaries in Tangmarg, besides Rs 2 lakh for development of local Jamia Masjid. He directed  installation of 6 solar lights at various places in the area. He also provided Rs 4 lakh   for construction and widening of link roads from Tangmarg to Gujar Basti and Tangmarg to Rather Mohalla.


At Manzgam, Mr. Paddar announced Rs 25 lakh for various developmental works including Rs 10 lakh for construction of protection bund on Channa Kul to prevent entry of flash water into nearby villages during heavy rains or floods, Rs 12 lakh for development of 12 Panchayat wards in Manzgam and Rs 3 lakh for development of Eidgah.


Mr. Paddar announced Rs 6 lakh for Koolinar village for undertaking several developmental works and Rs 2 lakh for upgradation of electric poles and wires to improve power supply in the area. He also provided power transformer of 100 KV capacities and replaced old one of low capacity. He also announced 6 low budget houses under 6 IAY in Brain Lamar.


Responding to public demands, the Minister instructed officers of PHE department to improve the supply of drinking water in these areas and repair all damaged pipes on priority.


Addressing a large public gathering at Tangmarg and Manzgam, Mr. Paddar said government is keen for ensuring better services to public and no laxity would be tolerated on behalf of government functionaries.
