Pak continues to violates ceasefire

Continuing attacks on border out posts and residential areas, Pakistan again resorted to the unprovoked heavy mortar shelling at several sectors of Poonch, Rajouri and Akhnoor district of Jammu along the LoC. Pak troopers firstly violated ceasefire in the Poonch district at about 5:30 where they targeted army posts and civilian hamlets in Balakote, Mankote, Balnoi and Mander sector. Heavy mortar shelling was started in the region all of sudden which was retaliated with the same caliber by the army. The firing was continuing from both the sides till the last reports came inwhile no loss of life and property was reported.
In the Akhnoor district Pak troopers opened fire at Pallanwala, Seri Battala and Pachrayal area of Chambb which later spread to other areas also. Here also heavy mortars were fired from the Pak side on the forward army posts and residential areas. The firing here was also given a befitting reply by the army which was going on till filling of this report.
In Rajouri, Sunderbani and Krishna Ghati (KG) sector were pounded with mortars and automatic weapon firing by Pak troopers. The firing started at 5:00 pm for half an hour which was appropriately responded by the army. No causality was reported from the region till the last report came in.
Defence PRO, Jammu Lt Col Manish Mehta when contacted confirmed the ceasefire violation by Pakistan and said that no loss or causality has been reported adding that army is giving befitting reply to the unprovoked Pak firing along the LoC.
