Panun Kashmir inaugurates Kashmiri Pandit Nirvasan Samvat-28

Jammu Tawi: On the commencement of Kashmiri Pandit Nirvasan Samvat-28, Panun Kashmir organized a traditional function at Jammu today. While addressing the gathering, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir said that it was in the year 2000 that Panun Kashmir adopted a resolution on “Kashmiri Pandit Nirvasan Samvat” which later on found a great resonance at all levels in the Kashmiri Pandit community. The programme was inaugurated with “Deep-prajavlan” and lighting of 28 earthen lamps symbolizing the twenty eight years of exile of the Kashmiri Pandit community. Virender Raina, National Spokesperson-PK presented the welcome address while Shri Upinder Kaul, General Secretary conducted the proceedings of the programme. A video presentation depicting various facets of the KP struggle was also made on the occasion by Hemant Bakshi. Swami Kumar presented his Mangal-Vachan to the delight of everyone present. Professor Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University-Jammu in his address emphasized upon the need to strive for excellence in exile and excel despite all the challenges.
