Total number of working days of two Houses of Indian Parliament namely Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha should be increased from 70 to minimum 100 for all the three sessions namely Budget session, Monsoon session and Winter session to ensure reduction in pendency of bills pending to be passed, and for sufficient time for debate on public-interest issues.
There are many bills which await clearance of both Houses of Parliament like women reservation bill.
System should be to ensure priority discussion and voting on long-pending bills. There is often criticism on long pending court-cases but it is surprising that no
one talks about long pending bills in Parliament.
Also there should be a fixed declared calendar for all the three sessions of Parliament uniformly for every year.
System will be advantageous for all concerned including Parliamentarians and various government-functionaries which can schedule their programmes accordingly. Even Election Commission can fix election-schedule accordingly.
Summoning of Parliamentary sessions should not be based on astrological aspects or superstitions.
