Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh said Saturday that passport offices in Jammu have been upgraded in recent months and all of them now have regional passport officers.

He also said that passport applications have increased due to this upgradation. In 2015, more than 35000 passports were issued in Jammu alone. He said the upgrading of passport offices will help to decrease delays in delivery of passports.

“More than 54 countries have visa on arrival for India, the foreign ministry’s passport release process has been increased & the disposal time is also less” he added. People are now getting passports and visas faster as compare to earlier time.
