Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has demanded resignation of Mehbooba Mufti government in view of its total failure to prevent the terrorists’ attacks on Shri Amarnath Yatris and which is clear indication of gravity of the security situation in the valley.
Addressing a joint press conference here today at PCC HQ Shaheedi Chowk Jammu senior vice-president Sham Lal Sharma along with vice-president Raman Bhalla, chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, general secretaries Yogesh Sawhney, Manjit Singh, Vikram Malhotra, Manmohan Singh and Namrata Sharma expressed grave concern over the alarming security situation in valley which is continuously worsening and the recent attack on Shri Amarnath Yatris despite all claims of all preventive security measures against any possible attempts, in the wake of open threats, is an indication of the ground situation and in-capability of the PDP-BJP government to handle Kashmir situation. Addressing the media persons, Sham Lal Sharma said that the attack is the result of major security lapse despite clear reports and warnings of possibility of attack on yatris, which reflects the in-ability and in-capability of Mufti government to bring the situation under control which is deteriorating day by day so this government has no moral right to continue in office anymore and should step down immediately to contain the situation otherwise things could be more worst. He also lashed out at the centre government for being mute spectator to the worsened situation in the valley and all along the border and Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan and China right from Kathua to Rajouri-Poonch, Uri and Ladakh region. Raman Bhalla described the PDP-BJP government as a total failure on all fronts especially to handle the security situation, which has gone out of control of the present State government and so long this government remain in power, situation would not normalize and this government must go immediately in the larger interest of State and nation and Modi government should wake up and rise above political interest to save the situation, which is getting radicalized for the past two and half years due to wrong policies of the PDP-BJP Govt.
Chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma while replying to a query said that local support to the militancy has increased because of the unnatural alliance and mishandling of the situation by the State and centre government. The leaders appreciated the role of civil societies and common people of J&K in aftermath of attack and also lauded the people of Jammu region for maintaining brotherhood and observing complete bandh to lodge protest over failure of the
government.
