PDP hails CM’s decision for free education to girls

Jammu Tawi, November 24

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Zone President Jammu West, Puneet Singh Jamwal today hailed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for announcing free education to girl students in the state. He said plying of women special buses, scooties for college girls, special women police stations and Ladli Beti Schemes were all aimed at giving women a dignified life in our state. Another move of CM asking educational institutions to ensure corporate linkages to enhance employability was also aimed at bridging gap of unemployment in our state.

He also said that installation of escalators and lifts at Jammu Railway Station will go a long way in helping travelers especially aged and patients, the foundation stone of which stands laid by railway officials. He said that this project once completed will become part of ‘Smart City’ move which is in fancy stage in Jammu and Kashmir State. This was a long pending demand of people of Jammu and Kashmir State and now that foundation of these facilities stands laid people will be able to travel with much convenience.

Girls and their parents in Jammu and Kashmir State are jubilant with this historic decision. Puneet Singh Jamwal said that several girl students used to drop out of schools because of financial constraints and now that their education is free many more girls will get enrolled for taking education. Prior to this, separate toilets were also built in all educational institutions to add to the facilities in schools which also reversed the dropout rates amongst girl students.
