PDP strives for women empowerment: Vijaya Dogra

A large number of women today joined Peoples Democratic Party in a function held at party office, Gandhi Nagar, here today.
While welcoming the new entrants to party, Vijaya Dogra, President, Women wing of PDP, said under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti, coalition Govt is doing a lot for the empowerment and uplift of women in particular. Vijaya Dogra said that the biggest challenge in the world today is violence and women are its biggest victims. “Women have the biggest stake in peace. We need them to restore it. She Chief Minister Mehbooba wants to invest in girl students, as their education and future because only they can free this world, country. She said hat government started scooty scheme under which college girls will be given 50 per cent subsidy on purchase of a scooty. She added that the idea is to make women independent in terms of mobility. On the occasion party spokesperson Ved Mahajan, Sr leader Fallail Singh, E-Peter, Balbir Singh, Ghar Singh, Karan Singh, Balbir Singh Salaria, Balbir Singh Manhas, Manohar Lal, Krishan Lal wer also present.
