PHE Minister appointed as Convener of Jat Sabha

All Jammu and Kashmir Jat Sabha today unanimously appointed Choudhary Sham Lal, minister for PHE, I&FC as the new convener of the sabha during a meeting held under the chairmanship of Ch Piara Singh-president of the Sabha.

The meeting was attended by Manjeet Singh, Ex-Minister, Ch. Gharu Ram, Ex-Minister, Ch. Sukhnandan, Ex-Minister, MLA, S Tarlok Singh Bajwa, Ex-MP (Rajya Sabha)and Ch. Surinder Kumar, MLC among others.

In the meeting a threadbare discussion was held to strengthen J&K Jat Sabha and to resolve the problems of the Biradari particularly pertaining to the youth of the community whether in case of education/ employment/ development. It was also discussed in the meeting how to achieve   the status of OBC for the community, which has been a long pending demand of the Biradari.

The President urged upon the members of the Sabha that he has served the Biradari for last 40 years and now pertaining to his health condition, he is not able to continue the chair but his blessing & good wishes for the betterment of the Biradari will be for the community.

Later on, the president appointed a six member committee to look after cause/ affair of the Biradari and to constitute District, Tehsil, Block & Panchayat level committees of the Sabha. Under the chairmanship of the president Ch Piara Singh, the committee unanimously decided to appoint Ch Sham Lal, Minister for PHE, I&FC as convener of the J&K Jat Sabha, S Manjeet Singh, Ex-Minister as Co-convener and MLC Surinder Choudhary as Secretary of the Sabha.
