Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that he is planning to bring a law under which only the sound of Indian instruments can be used as the horn of vehicles. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of a highway in Nashik, he said he is also studying the sirens used by ambulances and police vehicles and is changing them to a more melodic tune played on All India Radio.
At the ceremony, Nitin Gadkari said, ‘We have abolished red beacons. So now I want to put an end to these sirens as well. Currently, I am studying the sirens used by the ambulances and the police. Gadkari said that loud horns and sirens playing in vehicles are disturbing and sometimes even lead to accidents.
Union Minister Gadkari said, “An artist composed a tune for All India Radio, and it was played early in the morning. I am thinking of using that tune for an ambulance so that people like it. Sirens are used loudly, especially when ministers are passing, which is very disturbing. It also damages the ears.
