Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Katra today morning amid a tight security cover.
He is scheduled to inaugurate Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Specialty Hospital, Kakryal and Sports Complex, Katra.
Despite the massive security blanket, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) has declared that pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine between Trikuta Hills will continue uninterrupted even during the visit of the Prime Minister.
However, helicopter service for the pilgrims will remain suspended till the Prime Minister flies back from Katra to Jammu on way to New Delhi in the afternoon.
In a tweet last night, Modi said: “I am looking forward to being in Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow, where I will attend a wide range of programmes and inter-act with citizens”.
A special plane carrying the prime minister landed at the technical area of Jammu airport around 9 a.m.
State Governor N.N.Vohra, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh and other senior officials of central and state governments received Modi at the airport.
From the technical area of Jammu airport, Modi flew in army’s MI-17 helicopter to Katra town where a busy day-long schedule awaits him.
Vohra, Mufti and Singh are accompanying Modi to Katra.
