Feb 22: To highlight their plight faced due to the apathy of the Government, the PM package employees posted in Kashmir Valley held a one day convention under the aegis of Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) at Press Club here today.
During the convention the speakers reiterated that PM’s return and rehabilitation package for Kashmiri migrants was an eye wash and nothing else.
Former DGP Police, Ashok Bhan was the chief guest on the occasion while B L Saraf (retd) District and Session Judge, H N Jattu, president AIKPC, S K Koul,  (retd Commissioner Sales Tax) and Rakesh Kaul president, Sampooran, Kashmir Sangathan were guests of honour.
The convention was presided over by YIKS president R K Bhat. Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Bhan urged the Government to settle the problems of the PM package employees and ensure them all facilities including accommodation, in time salaries etc.
During the convention a resolution was passed demanding proper implementation of PM’s return and rehabilitation package as presently these employees were facing many hardships in Valley.
It said YAIKS volunteered in 2010 to return to Valley to strengthen Kashmiriyat and help in bridging the gulf between the two communities. But over these years it has been seen that the government has added to the worries of these employees instead of solving them.
It said the situation in Kashmir is deteriorating day by day and it was similar to 1989-90 and anti national elements have once again raised their ugly head.
Through the resolution the employees have demanded that they be adjusted in Central government offices or be made at par with the migrant employees till situation becomes conducive for their return to Valley.
The employees also warned that in case their demands were not settled they will be forced by the prevailing circumstances in Valley to quit the job and move to some other places for mental peace.
Through another resolution these employees have sought support and cooperation of all well thinking people in the State and country to come to their rescue at this crucial juncture.
Among others who addressed the gathering included Rakesh Kaul of Sampooran Kashmir, Arti Koul, Employees Coordinator, Sunil Koul, Pradeep Kisroo, Sunaina Goja and Anjali. The stage was managed by Preeti Koul and vote of thanks was proposed by Ajay Safaya, secretary AIKS.
