On the occasion of World AIDS Day the NSS unit of Dogra College of Education organized slogan writing and poster making competition on the theme “Know AIDS For No AIDS” under the supervision of NSS programme officer Nishu Saproo. Principal of the college of Education, Shefali Sharma addressed her concern over the fact that even among the educated masses there is ignorance about HIV and are believed to contribute unknowingly in its spread and that is the only way to combat this problem. She highlighted the significance of role of youth in making a change in the society and mitigating the suffering of the people. Forty NSS Volunteers participated in the above said competition. In the poster making competition from 3rd semester, Priyanka Chanyal adjudged with first, Shashi and Indica were declared as second and third respectively. From 1st semester, Shefali Sharma adjudged first, Rimpika and Shavi were declared as second and third. In Slogan Writing, from 3rd semester Sonika adjudged with first, Motiya and Rishu were declared as second and third respectively. From 1st semester Pallavi adjudged with first while Divyanshu and Bindu Choudhary were declared second and third. The judges of the event were Bela Thakur, Director Academics Dogra Educational Trust, Indu Puri Sr. Lecturer in Hindi and Vintee Kumari, Sr. Lecturer in Education. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion were Kr Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust, SC Khajuria, Director Administration and Campus Development.
