Principal Sec Agriculture reviews progress under PMKSY

Principal Secretary Agriculture Production Department, Sundeep K. Nayak convened a meeting to review the progress under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) and preparation of Annual Action Plans (AAPs for financial year 2016-17,here today .
Director Agriculture, Jammu, Director, CAD, Jammu, Director Horticulture Jammu/ Kashmir and Mission Director PMKSY, Jammu & Kashmir were present in the meeting whereas officers from Kashmir division attended the meeting through video-conferencing. Principal Secretary said PMKSY has been launched with an aim to achieve the goal of bringing irrigation water to every farmer’s field (HAR KHET KO PAANI)and one of the components of PMKSY Scheme is “PER DROP MORE CROP (PDMC) ” for which the Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India (GOI) has given a ceiling of Rs 16.00 crores (90% Central Share) for the year 2016-17 which includes a ceiling of Rs 7.00 crores for Micro-Irrigation and Rs 9.00 crores is earmarked for other interventions.
He directed all the head of departments to prepare the Annual Action Plans (AAPs) for the financial year 2016-17 under ‘Per Drop More Crop’ component of PMKSY for both the components; Micro-Irrigation & Other Interventions strictly as per the ceiling and added area already covered under Micro-irrigation up to 2015-16 .He also directed the concerned that action plan for 2016-17 be prepared on cluster approach basis clearly indicating; no. of clusters taken per district with activity to be undertaken, crop matrix, source of irrigation, crop wise area covered and no. of beneficiaries (SC /ST/OBC).
He further directed Director Agriculture Jammu/Director Agriculture Kashmir, Director Sericulture, Jammu& Kashmir, Director Floriculture, Jammu & Kashmir to prepare the AAPs of their respective departments strictly as per the format devised by DOA & FW, MOA GOI New Delhi and submit the same to the Mission Director PMKSY, J&K within five days for its compilation and finalization for further submission to the State Level Sanctioning Committee (SLSC).
