Jammu Tawi, November 24
Minister of State for Education, Culture and Information Priya Sethi today laid foundation stone of 4 Sulabh toilet complexes, here.
MLA, Jammu East Rajesh Gupta and senior leader Yudhvir Sethi were also present on the occasion.
The four public toilets would be constructed at a cost of Rs 41.0 lacs and the funding would be provided by the Minister from her CDF. The four complexes would come up at Panjtirthi, Deewana Mandir, Rani Park and Jammu Haat.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the complexes have been constructed as part of the national Swachh Bharat Mission launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She said the government wants to discourage open defecation and arrangements are being made to promote hygienic toilets in the area.
“Our Prime Minister Modi has launched Swachh Bharat mission and more and more number of people are joining the mission to clean surroundings all across the nation,” she added.
The MLA expressed his gratitude to the Minister for sanctioning four toilet complexes and said that efforts have been initiated to make the constituency a model constituency. He said that already over 10 crores have been spent on different development projects in the constituency and with active support of the government problems of the area including parking, traffic congestion and other such public issues would be addressed in a time bound manner.
