Priyanka, Deepika’s rivalry thickened?

The so-called alleged rivalry between Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone seems to be taking an interesting turn. Although both the international divas have time and again maintained that they are still besties and the so-called rivalry is just the figment of imagination of the media, the awkwardness between them was clearly visible when they both shared the stage at IIFA Awards in Spain this year. Now, if that wasn’t enough, Priyanka Chopra, while addressing the media at a magazine launch, said that she thought Deepika and she are still good friends. She said, “I thought Deepika and I were friends. Ab competitor ban gayi? I didn’t say anything. The way we were, we are still the same. Aapka nazariya badal raha hai.” While PeeCee again passed the ball in the media’s court and blamed them for speculating friction between them, we hope these rumours eventually turn out to be what they are… mere rumours, and we hope to see these global stars create magic on screen together in the near future. Is Bhansali listening?
Can competition get any fiercer or more glamorous? Deepika Padukone has followed “friend” Priyanka Chopra to Los Angeles seeking international projects and global fame.
We hear Chopra is not terribly chuffed especially since in the last year or so her global popularity has been on a dizzy upswing. Magazine covers, appearances at prestigious awards were all hers for the taking but now with Deepika too signed on for a Vin Diesel biggie, the heat between the two Bajirao ladies has cranked up.
Priyanka was quick to act when it emerged that Deepika has been featured in this month’s prestigious Vanity Fair magazine. We hear she has parted ways from her LA agency, Creative Artists Agency, and has signed up with an even bigger firm, William Morris Endeavor.
Meanwhile, back in Mumbai, we can’t help but hark back to a popular chat show where the two lovelies had shown up and swore they were friends. So what’s a little rivalry between BFFs, right?
