Protest over mismanagement at Annual Kheer Bhawani

Scores of activists of National Conference (NC) Minority Cell held demonstration at Press Club Jammu to vent their anger against state government for its alleged failure to provide security and proper management to KP pilgrims, who were visiting annual Kheer Bhawani Mela and different pilgrimage sites in the valley.
The protesters demanded that the concerned erring authorities, who were responsible to provide security and various kind of facilities, should be punished.
They also asked for fool proof security and proper management for the coming Maha Kumbh at Prayag Raj Sangam Shadipur on June 14 while any laxity would not be tolerated by the community. Yogi president of the cell warned that this kind of mismanagement will not be tolerated in future. He also added that in this coalition government the property, shrines and temples of Kashmiri Pandits are not safe.
“Recently two days back at Logripora, Ashmugam a Shiv temple was ransacked by the miscreants and no one was arrested in this connection,” he said.
He demanded immediate arrest of the culprits without any further delay so that confidence of community is restored.
Among others who spoke on the occasion included Bhushan Lal Bhat, Anil Dhar, Jatin Bhat, ML Munshi, Krishan Bhat, Pinky Bhat, Amit Kaul, Ramesh Bharti, Ashok Koul, PL Talashi, Raj Nath Fotedar, Bittu Bhat, Geeta Koul, Harminder Singh and other NC workers from camp and non camps.
