Provide drinking water to everyone: PHE Minister

Minister for Public Health Engineering, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary today said the government was committed to providing safe drinking water to people across the state.
Chairing a meeting of officials of the departments at PWD Guest House here today, the minister had a detailed review of working of these vital units of the government which had been entrusted the task of ensuring basic services to the people.
The minister urged the senior officials to monitor the functioning of their respective departments on a regular basis so that people might not suffer on this account.
He directed the officers to keep a strict vigil over the cleanliness of all water sources so that safe potable water was supplied to the people.
“People have a bigger role in keeping water sources clean and hygienic so they should be more responsible towards their duty,” the minister asserted. The minister also directed the officials to, supply water in canal so that more irrigated area cover and directed the flood and irrigation officials to ensure preparation for rainy season.
