Provide electricity to Dessa village

One side India is developing day by day and very soon it will become a fulfledged developed nation across the world but a remote village in Doda district, J&K, is still carving for electricity. Earlier in 2013-14, Dessa village in mountainous Doda district was electrified under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana, but the poles, transformers and wires collapsed within a month of installation and the area plunged into darkness once again. This is a matter of grave concern for state coalition government. Authorities should act swiftly and directed the concerned department for re-installation of electric poles and provide electricity to Dessa village. Even the villagers, claimed that they have conveyed their messages many times to concerned department but nothing has been done in this regard so far. As electricity is in the essential services and why concerned department is ignoring this. Authorities should constitute a team and probe in this regard. The Village Dessar is just 35 km from the district headquarters, villagers claimed they were living without electricity since Independence and there was no progress on the ground to re-electrify the village again. The surrounding villages were electrified decades ago, but people of the Gai, Sheinkly, Manjmi, Laloor, Gurkhan, Kunda, Gramdi, Saras, Gorkund, Chanderbatan, Thana and the Mushal areas of Dessa are without electricity for seven decades. Poles, wires and transformers were installed in several hamlets of Dessa village under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana in 2013-14, but the entire infrastructure collapsed in snowfall and torrential rains within a month of its installation.
Due to lack of electricity, the students of the area are not able to study properly. Residents of Dessa said they had seen electricity lit up their homes twice in three decades.
Earlier, the village was electrified in the 1980s for the first time only for a brief period. Later, the village was again electrified in 2013-14 but plunged into darkness in a month.
