A complete shutdown was observed in most parts of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday to mourn the death of Hizb militants who died in a brief gunfight on Saturday.
According to locals, all the shops and business establishments remained closed in Pulwama district while the traffic was thin on roads in the district.
Locals said that minor clashes erupted between youth and forces in Tahab area of the district.
Three militants were killed in an encounter with forces in Panzgam village during intervening night of Friday-Saturday.
Police said that operation was carried out after receiving a tipoff about the presence of the militants in a house at Panzgam.
The slain militants were identified as Ishfaq Baba of Tahab, Ishfaq Dar of Dogripora and Haseb Paul of Brao Badan.
