Pulwama shuts on fourth day to mourn death of local militant

A complete shutdown is being observed in Pulwamatown on third running day today to mourn the death of a local militant, Umais Ahmed Sheikh, in a gunfight with forces in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district last Thursday.

Shops and business establishments are closed while public transport is off the roads.
Authorities have deployed scores of police and paramilitary CRPF men to thwart anyprotests.
