Deputy Commissioner (DC) Reasi Ravinder Kumar stressed on ensuring quality basic school education even in the far-flung areas of the district. It was revealed by Kumar after making the surprise visit to various schools on Reasi-Katra road on Thursday afternoon. He added that administration is working on aspects like the availability of school infrastructure, the absenteeism among teachers, quality of school management and other factors like improving student teacher ratios.
During the visit, he checked the attendance of teachers, staff and took stock of the infrastructure, other facilitates being provided to the students at these schools including checking the quality of the mid-day meals being given to the students He also inspected classrooms and laboratories.
While checking, Kumar directed school administrations to assure the attendance of school employees and warned that slackness in this regard would not be tolerated.
While interacting with the students and staff members Kumar stressed upon developing good reading and writing skills. He called upon the staff to ensure that quality education is provided to the students and focus needs to be given to all round development of the child, adding that studies and co-curricular activities should be given equal attention for overall personality development of the students.
