Stresses people friendly policing to enlist public cooperation

Exhorting the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) to continue people friendly policing, Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar said that public contribution is mandatory for countering the nefarious designs of elements vitiating peaceful atmosphere. The DGP said this while addressing police officers in twin districts of Kathua and Samba. He said that JKP is unique for its multifarious functions and despite being a civil force, it never shirked from the duties which are normally being under taken by armed forces. Rajendra Kumar said that being a visible law enforcing body, the force has always been an eyesore of criminals. During the operations against militants, the JKP ensured the safety of civilian lives and public property, he added. The DGP said that the Organization has improved its training skills and its personnel have been acquainted with latest methods of policing. Besides, mob controlling with maximum restraint, to avoid loss of human lives, counter-insurgency operations have been carried with latest strategies in order to avoid collateral damages, he said. The DGP said that Police has the primary role in maintaining peace and order and ensure dignity and honor of common man. He appreciated the contribution of police in safeguarding the human lives and public property in the border districts and expressed hope that their dedication and selfless commitment towards public service would continue and garner public appreciation for the force. IGP Jammu Zone, Danish Rana, DIG JKSR, A. A. Wani, SSP Kathua, Pawan Parihar and SSP Samba, Joginder Singh, Principal PTTI Vijaypur Ranjit Kanwar, Principal PTS Kathua Sanjeev Khajuria, Commandant IRP17 Bn Roop Raj and other police officers attended the function.
