Rajya Sainik Board today organised a career counseling session alongwith personality development programme at Nehru Navoday Vidhyalaya, Nud (Samba). Speaking on the occasion, Director Rajya Sainik Board, Brigadier Harcharan Singh, thanked the school Principal Sukhraj Kaur for allowing the children to participate in the programme. He mentioned that painting competition was organised by J&K Academy of Art and Culture under the leadership of Amrinder Aman, Assistant Secretary in the academy. The local Army formation has consented to give insight to students on Army equipment. The counseling was being organised by Colonel K B Gupta who himself has worked with ZSWO Samba earlier. Personality development programme is being taken by Sarita Gupta, a matured teacher of Kendriya Vidhyalaya who also won CV Raman Science Teaching award amongst other awards.
Brigadier Harcharan Singh thanked Ashok Gupta and TS Banerjee an artist of National fame, for judging the painting competition. Director Rajya Sainik Board further thanked Principal and other staff for guiding the children to choose a career of their choice, as a selfless service done with a noble cause. A total of 305 boys and girl student (35 students wards of Veterans/ serving soldiers) benefitted from the programme. A similar programme will be run in other parts of the state to include Leh wherein children of civilians and Veterans/ serving soldiers will benefit.
