Rana highlights crucial role of RDD for development

National Conference Provincial President, Devender Singh Rana on Saturday highlighted the crucial role of Rural Development Department (RDD), saying the constituency being rural-oriented calls for a holistic approach with regard to prioritised development in consultation with the local representatives and as per the needs of various areas.
Rana, who is also the local MLA, said at the conclusion of an eight hour long Public Grievances Redressal camp held at Dansal in Nagrota to discuss problems confronted to the people.
During camp, Rana hoped that synergized efforts and the cooperation of the people will help in generating an atmosphere wherein the time bound execution of various developmental projects and programmes becomes
possible. While the people were supportive of welfare schemes in the constituency, the officers too must come forward to mitigate their difficulties. In this regard, he emphasised on massive administrative outreach to the people, saying this is imperative during the ongoing difficult phase.
The MLA Nagrota sought regulated power and other essential services supply in the constituency and hoped that the concerned departments will ensure proper functioning of various utility services by putting in their best.
On this occasion, the public representatives highlighted area-specific problems and sought their immediate redressal. They especially sought improvement in the power supply and drinking water supply in various areas and called for maintaining transformers bank so that the damaged ones are replaced immediately as otherwise the people are forced to wait for days together in the wake of damaged transformers.
The camp was attended by officers of various line departments besides prominent opinion leaders of the constituency.
