Reasi admin holds series of activities to make district polythene free

A series of activities and events were held across Reasi district as part of Swachhta Week being observed to make villages polythene free.
The main event was organized at Pouni in which Commissioner Secretary RDD Nirmal Sharma, Director RDD R.K. Bhat, ACD Reasi M.Y. Malik participated. The teams of officials also conducted inspection of shops and sized banned polythene. A function was also organized at Pouni in which several officers and local people were present.
At Katra, activities were organised under the supervision of SDM Neelam Khajuria.
She urged upon the local people to cooperate with the government in the anti-polystyrene drive. A demo on corn starch bags was also given by the experts.
A massive cleanliness drive was launched by Tehsildar Munshi Ram at Mahore wherein public places, office premises and foot paths were cleaned by the officers, officials and local people jointly.
In Reasi town, MC teams seized polythene bags from the shops and also fined as per the norms.
Similar drives and campaigns were also launched in Dharmari, Arnas and other blocks to send strong message among the people for using environment friendly bags and to keep the surroundings green and clean.
