Recent attacks indicative of terrorist’s intent & capacity to attack at will across state: Bhalla

In the wake of persistent terrorist attacks in valley and Intelligence inputs about infiltration attempts by the militants, Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla reacting over spurt in terrorist violence in the Kashmir valley over the last few days has demanded high level review of security scenario in Jammu and called for strengthening security measures on the borders and hinterland to prevent any fresh strike by the militants.
The recent attacks in the valley send out a clear message of their intent and capacity to attack at will across the state. It is also quite evident that the terrorist cadre operating in the state has been specifically instructed to target the security forces, especially the Jammu and Kashmir Police, former Minister maintained. The terrorist attack may affect flow of tourists to Jammu and Kashmir including pilgrim tourist to Mata Vaishno Devi ji and Shri Amarnath ji cave shrines,” Bhalla pointed out while addressing a public meeting at Sanjay Nagar organised by Ch Dwarka Ex Corporator. Prominent amagst others who also addressed gathering include Kulbushan Sharma, S Atter Singh, Dildar Singh, Tanvir Mohd, S Darshan Singh, Shashi Khanna, Subash Choudhary, Vijay Gupta, and others. Bhalla said that state government failed to provide people with the basic amenities and infrastructure required for catering to their daily problems and woes like electricity and supply of drinking water, former Minister said it was unfortunate that people were being subjected to load shedding of electricity for long hours.
Bhalla stressed the need for effective day-to-day coordination among different departments for ensuring fool-proof arrangements for smooth conduct of Annual Shri Amarnath ji Yatra.He demanded authorities to keep their activities at maximum to put in place all arrangements like potable water, power supply, stay of devotees at the identified locations in case of bad weather, sanitation, provision of toilets, lodging, langar facilities, installation of hoarding, medicare, traffic and security arrangements. He also demanded appropriate communication tools for help of the pilgrims seeking registration for the Yatra, need for compulsory health certificate for registration and the do’s and don’ts to be followed during the annual pilgrimage and related health advisories for the pilgrims. He asked the R&B, Traffic authorities to put their men and machinery at toes to repair and restore damaged roads due to rains and landslides keeping in view the bad weather conditions for effective traffic regulation during the pilgrimage besides cleanliness at Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar, Bus Stand, Airport and Railway Station for the convenience of the yatris.
