Recruit J&K youths in para-military forces: BJP MP

A Lok Sabha member today demanded that youths from bordering areas of Jammu and Kashmir should be employed in central paramilitary forces and posted in the State to prevent them from migrating to other parts of the country.

BJP MP from Jammu, Jugal Kishore Sharma, raised the matter during Zero Hour and said people were facing hardship in the State and giving them jobs there could help them.

He said the civilians along the bordering areas of Jammu and Kashmir often faced unprovoked firing from the Pakistan side in which houses are damaged and cattle destroyed. The local children also do not get proper nutrition.

“(Recruitment) camps should be set up in Jammu and Kashmir and local youths given priority in recruitment in BSF, CRPF or CISF and ensure that they are posted in that area. These youth will then be able to take care of their people and it will also ensure that they do not migrate to other areas. This will help deal with the problem of migration,” he said
