Ever since district heads ha ve started listening to public grievances on a regular basis and that too twice in a week, people have found a sign of relief which have also resulted in several pending cases getting addressed amicably. A decision to this effect was taken by the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti who wanted public offices to remain open for common masses and consequently these public hearings by Deputy Commissioner is getting huge response. This was stated by People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and former member J&K State Advisory Board for Gujjars and Bakerwals, Abdul Hamid Choudhary who said that Public Service Guarantee Act besides these meetings by civil administration and police heads have all resulted in better and transparent system of functioning which was missing in previous regimes. Giving people such a credible system of functioning was also the dream of Late chief minister and patron of PDP Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. Choudhary Hamid added that chief minister Mehboba Mufti was also particular about execution of all developmental works undertaken by Economic Reconstruction Agency which was why she has given time frames for completion of all important projects in both capital cities. Choudhary Hamid said that several such projects including Jahangir Chowk-Rambagh Expressway Corridor in Srinagar, Bikram Chowk Flyover at Jammu, Landfill Site at Achan Srinagar, 30 MLD Sewerage Treatment Plant at Jammu, construction of OHTs and replacement of worn-out PHE pipes both at Srinagar and Jammu, besides projects relating to sewerage and drainage and capacity building of sectors like H&UD and PHE departments will surely be dedicated to public well in time.
