Amidst much hyped rumors of shifting Uri Brigade Commander K Somashanker in relation
to Uri fidayeen attacks on September 18, Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI) to Army Headquarters Maj Gen A K Das today told JK Newspoint that no such orders have been issued by the army and news carried out by section of media
is ‘Wrong’.
While responding to the query raised by the JK Newspoint regarding the shifting of Uri Brigade Commander, the ADGPI clearly said that “The news regarding the shifting being carried out by a section of media is completely wrong as no orders have been issued for the posting/shifting/removal of Uri brigade commander”.
Pertinent to mention here that this morning, news regarding the Shifting of Uri Brigade Commander K Somashanker was flashed by the electronic media and print media which had spread confusion among
the masses.
A section of media this morning has carried out the news “Uri Brigade Commander ‘shifted out’ after terror attack” citing the reasons that he has been removed in terror attack aftermath and an officer from the 28 Mountain Division of the army is scheduled to take over as the Uri Brigade commander.
It was also claimed that the commander, Brigadier K Somashanker, will stay “shifted out” until an investigation – currently underway – on the attack will conclude.
But all the rumors were brought to an end by the ADGPI when he informed JK Newspoint that the news is baseless and no such order have been issued by the army.
