Road connectivity vital for development: Mir Zahoor

Srinagar, May 30
Minister of State for Forests, Ecology & Environment, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Cooperatives and Fisheries Mir Zahoor Ahmad today kick-started macadamization work at Padgampora in Pulwama and said that road connectivity is crucial for socio-economic development of the State.
He said that Mehbooba Mufti led coalition Government has prioritized R&B sector and directions have been given to the department to conduct survey of all uncovered areas and formulate Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) accordingly.
The Minister also interacted with locals, after kick starting the macadamization work on 6 km long Goripora- Padhgampora road being upgraded at the cost of Rs 11 crore in Pulwama.
Referring to the initiatives taken by the government, he said that several initiatives are underway to improve the basic infrastructure of all core sectors like health, education and power adding that various flagship programmes are being launched in the State to improve the living standard of the people especially of the weaker sections of the society.
