Calling upon party workers to fulfill dreams of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to set up a new system of justice and equality in the State, the newly appointed Mahila wing president of PDP, Vijaya Dogra today said that her party, under the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti, is committed to provide equal opportunities of growth and development to every section of the society.
Speaking in a function, which was organised this morning to felicitate her on her appointment as new Mahila wing president, Dogra said that policies and programmes of PDP are formulated by incorporating wishes and aspirations of every sections of the society. She said that PDP is committed to provide equal opportunities of growth to women because socio-economic growth of females is must to ensure balanced growth in the society.
While seeking to draw attention of her party colleagues towards revolutionary schemes like Ladli Beti and Asara launched by the PDP led coalition government, she said that such historic schemes will go a long way in changing perception of the society towards the girl child. She said that there is dire need to educate the masses about these revolutionary schemes so that deserve lot will take benefit of such schemes. She further pointed out that such schemes are going to address the concerns of girl’s right from birth to adulthood by providing financial security to them. A rousing reception was accorded to Vijaya Dogra on her arrival in the PDP office, first time after her appointment as Mahila wing president. Senior leader and former Mahila Wing President Shanti Devi, Surjett Kour, Vijay Gupta, Geeta Thakur, Anju Bhan, Manju Sharma, Kavita Sharma, Praveen Akhtar and hundreds of party workers were gathered in the office to receive her.
