The Rashtriya Rifles in an endeavour to address the health concerns of people living in remote villages conducted a series of educational lectures for people on issues of cleanliness, disease prevention and sanitation. 236 people including women and children attended the lectures conducted by Army from the remote villages of Talwara, Kunalagala, Chakalsalta, Barakh and Shikari in district Reasi. Emphasis was laid on cleanliness of household and surrounding areas, safe practices while cooking food, personal hygiene, sanitation and use of clean water. The speakers dwelled at length on symptoms of seasonal ailments like typhoid, jaundice and various communicable diseases. The villagers were advised to visit nearest health centres as well as medical camps established by the Army at regular intervals. The local populace thanked the army in their Endeavour to ameliorate the medical and health issues of people residing in the remote areas.
