The Rashtriya Rifles in a major effort to nurture the young talent in rural areas conducted a `Talent Hunt ‘ competition for children from eight schools at Bagga in Mahore tehsil with the aim of giving a platform to the young minds to showcase their talent apart from getting an opportunity to learn by interaction with their counterparts from other schools. Over 147 students in the different age group participated in various competition like painting, drawing, essay writing, poetry, debate and extempore speech.
The students were also exposed to a plethora of fun filled activities like `Tug of War’ making the event a memorable one for the participants apart from presenting lectures on environmental preservation and prevention of water borne diseases to the students on the occasion. The event was conducted with aim to encourage students in the art of public speaking as well as giving them opportunity to portray their talent. Prizes were awarded in presence of teachers, students, parents and officials from the civil administration and Army.
The local populace thanked the Army for such event gave an opportunity to the students to bring their talent to the fore and gave them confidence to perform in the open forum.
