The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Jhangar under the aegis of Rashtriya Rifles Counter Insurgency Uniform Force Headquarters, Reasi organised a seminar on `Women and their Role in the Society’ at Government Middle School Saryah.
The seminar which was attended by officials from the Army, civil administration, Sarpanches and women from various cross sections of the society focused on the important role being played by women in the field of education, Armed Forces, economic arena and Government. Speakers emphasized that women, as an integral part of the society have made immense contribution to the overall growth and development of the nation.
Shri Purshottam Lal, Sarpanch of village Saryah said that the `Government has introduced various schemes like ` Sukanya Samridhhi Account, Mother and Child Tracking System, Rajiv Gandhi scheme for empowerment of Adolescent girls and Priyadarshini scheme’ among others.  These schemes have benefited a large number of women; however, knowledge and importance of such schemes need to be proliferated to the remote corners of the country so that women and girls from villages also can benefit from the same’.
The local populace thanked the Army for conduct of the seminar and said such seminars and discussions will pave the way for girls to be motivated and choose a career of their choice.
