Rs 2572.201 lakh utilized under various schemes in Srinagar, Ganderbal

An amount of Rs 2572.201 lakh has been utilised to develop different sectors under various central sponsored schemes in central Kashmir districts of Srinagar and Ganderbal during the last fiscal year.
An official spokesperson here today said that under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), an amount of Rs 2133.14 lakh has been utilized on 2496 number of works in the Ganderbal, generating around 8.38 lakh person-days of employment.He said an amount of Rs 83.97 lakh have been utilised on 247 units, out of which 168 units have been finalized, under the Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) scheme in the district.With regard other schemes, like 13th FC, CD Panchayats and Non Plan, in the district, he said around 51 number of woks have been completed with an expenditure of Rs 82.531 lakh.Meanwhile, during the financial year 2016-17 around 233 works have been completed under MGNREGA with an expenditure of Rs 268.01 lakh, generating some 58200 person-days of employment. Whereas, he said 22 units have been completed with an expenditure of Rs 4.55 lakh under the IAY scheme.
