An amount of Rs 43.25 lakh has been distributed among 95 families affected in militancy related incidents in Kashmir valley, an official spokesperson here today said.
He said Rs 11,25,750 was distributed among 87 militancy affected families by Social Welfare Department in south Kashmir district of Kulgam under ASSIST programme sponsored by National Council for Communal Harmony, Government of India.
He said that the government has embarked on direct benefit transfer wherein assistance would be directly transferred to bank accounts of beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, Rs 32 lakh were sanctioned in favour of eight cases in lieu of Government employment.
He said two cases for Government employment, while as one departmental case recommend to the concerned department for employment was also created.
