RTO Kathua challaned 13 vehicles, realised fine of Rs 35000

In view of the complaints received from public and instructions from Deputy Commissioner Kathua to check the violations of various provisions of MV Act by School Buses, a special drive was launched by Regional Transport Office under the supervision of RTO Kathua Amarjeet Singh. Checking team comprising of MVI Ravinder Sharma and MVTAs conducted a drive against violators to check the violations of provisions of MV Act during early hours in the morning. As many as 13 vehicles were challaned and 3 vehicles were compounded and a fine of Rs. 4500 was realised on the spot. The vehicles were challaned for plying on the road without fitness, driving licence, drivers without uniform, overloading, violation of route permit, registration certificates. One vehicle was also seized u/s 207 of MV Act 1988. An amount of Rs 35000/- is expected to be realised from the challaned vehicles.
