Political parties of J&K state has started playing politics over proposal of Sainik Colony at Kashmir Valley at par with Jammu, creating confusion among the masses to disturb peace in Kashmir Valley. Even main opposition party National Conference (NC) and other valley centric parties are speaking in tone of separatist leaders and hitting out Mehbooba Mufti government for its policy.
Though Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has vehemently refused to be any proposal on the agenda of the government but former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah through a tweet created controversy that a proposal to allot 350 kanals of land is in the pipe line of the government. What is worse that even chairman of Jammu-Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Mohd Yasin Malik has warned that no colony for ex-servicemen or Kashmiri Pandit would be allowed in the valley.
He also opposed industrial policy.
Briefing newsmen, he said Kashmiri Pandit are their brother and part and parcel of their society but no composite township exclusively for Pandit would be allowed at any cost, adding that 10,000 KPs are living with harmony with their Muslims brethren.
Regarding sainik colony, he said that soldiers may be from any part of J&K but no colony would be allowed here. A soldier is role model of a nation. Every nation owe to his sacrifice with various types of welfare scheme. Above all it has been made absolute clear by both Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh that only state subject soldiers or ex-servicemen are entitled to this colony as has been done at Jammu. But this is also not acceptable to them both Valley centric political leaders and separatist which speak their perturbed mindset. This move on their part reflect that they are apprehensive of any move of the government which may be even friendly to its state subject. Moreover separatists forces are going strong in valley as a result even main stream political parties of the Valley kneel down to their wishes, which would not be in the interest of the state, nation and public.
This trend is going to be so dangerous that if government want to go ahead with any people friendly policy then first of all it has to be take nod from separatist forces. If it is not acceptable to them then government in power hesitate to take action and proposal is shelved.
In fact the separatist forces with frequent shutdown and strike has created panic among the persons at helm of affairsc and with the passage of time any government in J&K is going to held ransom by them.
It may be issue of rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandit, Sainik Colony or other issue, J&K government as well as central government put a break on any proposal which is objected by separatist.
This is the biggest challenge of any government in a state like J&K. What is alarming that BJP partner of PDP government is also keeping silent on the issue of Sainik Colony and separate township for Kashmiri Pandit in Valley. Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has to take bold steps, which are in the interest of the people of the state and ignore this dangerous move on the part of the government.
