-Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) the biggest organizer of Olympiads for school students in the world has launched two new Olympiad exams globally including JAMMU with renowned organization, One Is International Sports Knowledge Olympiad (ISKO) In Association With Star Sports and second International Company Secretaries Olympiad (ICSO) – in association with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, under The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India.
Approx 20000 Students registered for the Olympiad (2015-2016) in JAMMU. Some of the regular participants in SOF Olympiad from JAMMU G.D. Goenka Public School, Heritage School, Jodhamal Public School, Army Public School, K.C. International School Etc .
International Sports Knowledge Olympiad (ISKO) will include Sports & General Knowledge questions and students from classes one to ten may appear in the ISKO. Awards/scholarships worth approx. Rs.2.25 crores will be provided to winners/ participants. In addition, for the first time, select state topper students will be invited to appear on a special program on Star Sports channel.
International Company Secretaries Olympiad (ICSO) for students of classes 11 & 12, is designed to assist students realize their aptitude & potential for Company Secretary’s profession. Students from all streams – Science, Commerce & Humanities may appear in the ICSO. The international topper from each class will be awarded a cash scholarship of Rs one lac each. Over Rs. 50 lacs will be awarded to winners of ICSO.
SOF is already partnering The British Council for the International English Olympiad. Mahabir Singh, the founder & Executive Director, shared that for the current year,students and schools would be recognized & felicitated with awards & scholarships worth over Rs. fourteen crores. He informed that registrations for the current year are open and registration forms have been sent to schools.
According to ICSI President, CS Mamta Binani, said that the CS Olympiad is being conducted to help the students evaluate themselves at school/city/state/national level and decide on their professional career at an early stage. It will also help students understand how competent they are among their peers..
SOF has been organizing Olympiad exams since the past over 20 years. For the year 2015-16, over 34000 schools in 1400 cities in India and 22 countries across the world registered for the Olympiads and millions of students appeared in the following four exams:
