Security forces continue working to bring peace in valley: Lt Gen Bhatt

New Delhi/Srinagar, Feb 25 (UNI) The security forces are gearing to neutralise the terror activists in Kashmir valley and would put all efforts to bring peace and tranquility in the region, said LT Gen AK Bhatt, Srinagar-based Chinar Corps Commander.

A high-level joint Army, JKP and CRPF meeting was held at headquarters of Victor Force at Awantipur on Saturday, to review the security situation in South Kashmir. ”The entire Chinar Corps, which includes not just the Army but all security forces, is well geared to fight against terrorists and would continue working towards bringing peace and harmony in the region,” said Lt Gen Bhatt.

The Intelligence Bureau officers and Rashtriya Rifles Sector Commanders, senior police personnel from all districts of South Kashmir were present in the meeting. The meeting has taken place after the Pakistani troops involved in a number of ceasefire violations across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. According to sources in Defence establishment, over 200 terrorists are waiting along the LoC, north of Pir Panjal, to cross over to the state.

It was decided to carry out a joint future strategy to counter the designs of terrorists.

Lt Gen Bhatt also appreciated the synergy that exists amongst all the forces operating in South Kashmir and exhorted everyone to continue working towards achieving peace and establishing the writ of the government. Besides sharing of intelligence and ideas, Kashmir Inspector General of Police SP Pani assured of total support and synergy between the security forces.
