Kathua, April 26
In light of the directions of Police Headquarters J&K and as a part of move already initiated, District Police Kathua has organized a seminar at Rajiv Gandhi Memorial college of Education Kathua in collaboration with NGO Women Era Development Society headed by Kusum Salaria on “Challenges of Drug abuse and role of Women in tackling this menace” on Wednesday.
A large number of students from different schools of District Kathua and prominent Citizens, chairpersons of different societies/NGOs, retired Police personnel have participated in the seminar and addressed their views during the seminar. Dy. SP Parul Bhadwaj and Kusum Salaria were the main organizers, while SSP Kathua Pawan Parihar was present as chief guest during the occasion. On concluding the event Pawan Parihar SSP Kathua thanked all the participants as well as guests and expressed the role of society particularly the role of women for tackling drug abuse growing in the current society. During his address SSP Kathua has offered co-operation from the society to tackle this menace and also stressed upon the role of parents particularly women for generating a drug free environment by educating their wards regarding ill effects of the drug. The police officers hoped that the students would not only learn the lessons on drug abuse and over-speeding but also spread the message among their friends, relatives etc. At the end mementos were presented to all the speakers participants and distinguished guests.
